In my series of works entitled SCULPTURAL OBJECTS, I explore the tension between materiality and perception. By deliberately using different materials, such as concrete, wood, paper, clay and stone, I create pieces that can be experienced visually and haptically.

A particular focus of my work is the use of recycled paper fibres. I use these fibres to form objects whose surfaces resemble rusty or greenish patinated metals. These pieces are designed to create a sense of confusion: although they are lightweight, they appear to be very heavy, as if they were made of solid metal that had oxidised over decades.

By separating the material reality from the appearance, I influence the viewer's perception and expose them to a sense of disquiet. These pieces encourage us to reconsider our assumptions about weight, substance, and material authenticity. Through the interplay of visibility and concealment, reality and illusion, they reveal an aesthetic of decay where fragility and permanence are inextricably entwined.
